This study begins to explore the possibility of local people creating a Middleport that is strong, sustainable and resilient in the face of climate change. It has been researched and written by Marches Energy Agency (MEA), working with Middleport Matters and with funding and support from Middleport Environment Charity.
Middleport Matters has fundraised to improve this popular gateway into the area and we would love to share with you what’s happening next…
We regularly organise clean-ups around the area in partnership with other local organisations. If you would like to be kept informed about future clean-ups please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Neighbourhood Plan is a policy document, written by local people, that helps decide how buildings and land are used and where new developments should be located, according to local needs. Once completed, the plan will be subject to a local referendum and, if successful, will be used when deciding whether planning applications should be approved.
Thanks to Seedbed funding, so far, we have been able to bless a number of local projects with a small amount of funding.
In Middleport, we currently have a youth gang problem where young people are getting involved in anti-social behaviour and being groomed by older kids to take part in other crimes. We wanted to create a different ‘gang’ for these young people to be a part of, and we wanted them to be encouraged to achieve positively in that group.
