The Secret Garden with its little window box planters

Secret Gardening

Article Written:

Our Secret Garden art installation and planters received a little love and some new specially-chosen plants.

The Secret Garden area includes a number of large planters decorated with locally-made ceramic tiles. We tidied up a few weeds and added in more plants, including wild garlic from the abundant growth at Root’n’Fruit.

There are very small window box planters on the mural. These pose a particular challenge for growing in as they hold very little soil. We chose drought-hardy plants including mint, ivy leafed toadflax and stonecrops.

While we were working in the area, we cleared litter in the nearby park.
